  1. Do I need a doctor’s referral to get physiotherapy?

No you do not need a doctor’s referral to attend physiotherapy. If you have extended benefits or insurance, the insurance company may require a doctor’s referral.

  2. Do you supply physiotherapy services for Alberta Health Services?

Yes. We are the only private clinic in Canmore and Bow Valley that has had a continuous long term contract with Alberta Health Services. Please call our office for details of Alberta Health Service coverage for community based physiotherapy.

  3. Does your clinic provide physiotherapy service for the Workers’ Compensation Board?

We do. We have been working closely with WCB for over 15 years. As an injured worker with WCB coverage your first Assesment and Treatment is covered by WCB.

  4. How long does each physiotherapy session take?

Each session in the clinic is 45 minutes to one hour.

  5. Do you do acupuncture?

Yes. Our physiotherapists have been well trained in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture as well as Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS).

  6. What should I bring to my appointment?

You don’t need to bring anything, although it is sometimes helpful if you bring your own pair of shorts and a t-shirt.

  7. Does your clinic offer orthtotics?

Yes. We have been successfully fitting custom foot orthotics into the shoes of the Bow Valley for over 15 years. Call us for more details and to make an appointment with our highly skilled orthotics team.

  8. Do you offer knee braces?

Yes. We have a Certified Orthotist on staff. An Orthotist is a highly trained university graduate specifically trainined to do knee braces. As a specialist in this area the Orthotist can direct bill WCB, Insurance Companies, Alberta Health Care, NHIB, etc. Most of these payers require an orthotist to supply the brace or orthotics in order for it to be covered. In addition, an orthotist can provide prothetics, custom foot orthotics, and various upper and lower extremity splints and braces.

  9. Will your clinic direct bill my insurance company?

Yes- in most cases we will direct bill insurance companies for our services. Please contact our office for more details.
